Service Description
It's not easy recovering from pregnancy and child delivery. The road can be emotionally and physically confusing. Join Physical Therapist Shantay Mayes, as she guides you through a postpartum functional strength class - a beginner-intermediate level strength class covering the basics plus a little bit more. This class focuses on whole body strength and posture, proper body mechanics related to daily tasks, and strengthening of those pelvic floor and abdominal muscles that may have taken a hit during that last leg of pregnancy and first leg of motherhood. *Infants and children up to age 8 are welcome to join and play on our Little Paws Playground, hang out in moms baby carrier, or take a nap in a stroller next to mom while she exercises. A maximum of 2 children per mom allowed. Our playground will be supervised by our staff. *Participants must be at least 10-weeks post-partum. *If participant underwent a cesarean section, incision site must be healed. *This class is not intended to take the place of formal Physical Therapy. If you are experiencing persistent pain or abnormal symptoms such as incontinence, contact your physician. *Upon registration, a health history questionnaire. And participant information document will be emailed to the email used to register. Participant or Parent/Guardian will also be asked to select a day and time for Participants Initial Screening Session. *No refunds will be given after registration. 1 make up session will be provided after 6 weeks.
